Mark Wemple, Esq.

Mark Wemple received his Juris Doctorate from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1996, is licensed to practice law in Maryland, and is admitted practice in the the United States District Court of Maryland.  Mark was the Assistant Editor for the Environmental Law Review while attending school and he clerked for the Honorable James P. Punch in the Orleans County Court back in 1996.  He has also been doing panel work for the Maryland Public Defender’s Office since 2002 and has done panel work for the Federal Public Defender’s office since 2005. Mark attended college at Cortland College where he obtained his B.A. in Studio Art, Art History, and Spanish. Mark also studied abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Salamanca.  Prior to practicing law, Mark worked a number of jobs. He was a teacher, a social worker, and he served as an Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Ithaca.

Mark has been practicing law for over 15 years and is the firm’s lead trial attorney.  He focuses primarily on criminal defense, civil, family, and personal injury matters.  Mark’s past experience working as a social worker is particularly helpful for practicing family law because it gives him an insight that most attorneys do not have.  As a prior social worker, Mark understands the importance of family and how to properly advocate for things like child custody and child support.

With regards to criminal defense, Mark’s experience is unparalleled.  He has litigated misdemeanor and felony cases in both state and federal courts and has a proven track record of successfully defending alleged criminals.  He has obtained acquittals for clients in rape, manslaughter, DUI, and drug cases.  Mark fights to ensure that every client is afforded the full due process of law in every case, no matter how small or big.  He has taken hundreds of cases to trial and is not afraid to stand up to judges in open court. In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and children, racing cars and motorcycles, and listening to music.
